Coinciding with the arrival of the Spaniards in the Philippines under the leadership of Ferdinand Magellan in 1521 was their introduction of the Christian religion to the native Filipinos.

During the Spanish conquest, the Filipinos gradually embraced Christianity until the native religion was almost extinct. Apart from Christianity, various religions have come to this country from foreign believers.

This year, 2021, the 500th anniversary of Christianity will be celebrated here in the Philippines. Simultaneously with this celebration, the song “We Give Our Yes” was released as the official mission song of the said anniversary.

“We Give Our Yes” was sung by veteran singer and dubbed “Inspirational Diva” Jamie Rivera.

In the music video of the said song, Jaime can be seen wearing a captivating gown designed by Filipino fashion designer Mark Aldane Velasco Tumang or better known as Mak Tumang.

The official theme of 500 Years of Christianity is “Gifted to Give.”
