Mak Tumang designs gown for the 500th anniversary of Christianity in the Philippines

Coinciding with the arrival of the Spaniards in the Philippines under the leadership of Ferdinand Magellan in 1521 was their introduction of the Christian religion to the native Filipinos.
During the Spanish conquest, the Filipinos gradually embraced Christianity until the native religion was almost extinct. Apart from Christianity, various religions have come to this country from foreign believers.
This year, 2021, the 500th anniversary of Christianity will be celebrated here in the Philippines. Simultaneously with this celebration, the song “We Give Our Yes” was released as the official mission song of the said anniversary.
“We Give Our Yes” was sung by veteran singer and dubbed “Inspirational Diva” Jamie Rivera.
In the music video of the said song, Jaime can be seen wearing a captivating gown designed by Filipino fashion designer Mark Aldane Velasco Tumang or better known as Mak Tumang.
On the designer’s Facebook page, Tumang shared a picture of the said gown designed with cerulean tones, and written were inscriptions on the hem of the gown, and behind it is a white dove.
“Inspired by the logo of 500 years of Christianity, I made this immaculate gown with tones of cerulean for Ms. Jamie Rivera for the music video of We Give our Yes, the official mission song of #500YOC,” said the fashion designer in his instagram post.
The official theme of 500 Years of Christianity is “Gifted to Give.”
